Measurement tools

To interact with the map, use the toolbox on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you will be able to take measurements and add annotations.

When you create a new annotation or measurement, it will appear in the notification panel on the right-hand side of the screen. Click the button in the right hand side menu to open the panel.  You are able to expand or remove items in the notification panel; it is also possible to filter the list by time created or author.

Point

Use to find the coordinates (x,y) and elevation (z) of a specific point. Click any location in the point cloud to obtain your coordinates.

Line

Use to measure linear distance between two points. Click to define the starting point, and click again to define the end.

Area

Use to measure an area.

Click to create the polygon vertices, double-click to close the area. It’s also possible to hit enter, or to click on the first point to close the polygon. Hit the escape key to cancel a measurement.

Cut and Fill

Use to measure the volume above and below a surface that approximates the ground level.

Click to define a polygon around the area you wish to find out the volume of.

It is advised to zoom in and carefully click on the points at the bottom of the pile to get an accurate measurement. Double click the last point to close the area, or hit the escape key to cancel the measurement.

When you close the polygon, a menu will appear on the right of the screen containing the cut & fill measurements.

You can also drag and drop each point you have placed to make precise adjustments.
